With Association headquarters in Washington, DC, members number more than 100,000 in the United States. In California there are more than 19,000 members in 169 branches.

Who May Join? AAUW is open to all graduates from accredited institutions. A new Association policy now enables us to invite into membership graduates with an AA degree or its equivalent.
Diversity: AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There are no barriers to full participation in our organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability and/or class.
Student Affiliates: Undergraduates and those returning to university after a lapse of time may join as student affiliates.
